Quidsi Mission
Our mission is to inspire passion in our customers.
Guiding Principles
The principles below represent the best of our culture. They describe the ideals we aspire to as a company. Taken together, they guide us toward fulfilling our mission.
- 1.
- Be Real. Be authentic. Be genuine.
"Be yourself. Everyone else is taken." — Oscar Wilde
- 2.
- Bring It. Every game counts. Run the bases hard.
"I never had a policy. I have just tried to do my best each and every day." — Abraham Lincoln
- 3.
- Go For It. Life is way too short. Don't stand by. Take chances. Show courage. Embrace risk.
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." — Mark Twain
- 4.
- Find a Way. There is usually a solution. Be resourceful. Execute. Get it done.
"The greater the difficulty, the more glory in surmounting it. Skillful pilots gain their reputation from storms and tempests." — Epicetus
- 5.
- Peel Back the Onion. The surface is often misleading. Most important issues are really complex. Rigorously analyze. Uncover the hidden layers. There are usually many.
"We use 10 percent of our brains. Imagine how much we could accomplish if we used the other 60 percent." — Ellen DeGeneres
- 6.
- Be Open. Don't be stubborn. Don't be afraid to change your mind. Listen. You just may be swayed. Don't confuse compromise with capitulation.
"Progress is impossible without change and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything." — George Bernard Shaw
- 7.
- Connect. Try to understand and connect with those around you. Algorithms will solve lots of our problems. But people are more complicated. Relationships are not formulas. Great leaders win minds and hearts.
"I've learned that people will forget what you said; people will forget what you did. They will not forget how you made them feel." — Maya Angelou
- 8.
- Be Kind. Respect each other. Treat people like you want to be treated. Manners matter. Civility counts.
"Be nice to those you meet on the way up. They're the same folks you'll meet on the way down." — Walter Winchell
- 9.
- Have Fun. Make what you do fun or find something new to do.
"You've got a lot of choices. If getting out of bed in the morning is a chore and you're not smiling on a regular basis, try another choice." — Steven D. Woodhull
- 10.
- Believe. The road will not be straight. Believe in yourself. Believe in those around you. Believe big things are possible. We are idealistic. We like to ask, "What If?"
"Listen to the mustn'ts, child. Listen to the don'ts. Listen to the shouldn'ts, the impossibles, the won'ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me... Anything can happen, child. Anything can be." — Shel Silverstein

- Our
Culture -
What if your job was more than just a job?
What if your coworkers brought out the extraordinary in you?
What if you worked at Quidsi?
At Quidsi, every day is different from the next. It's what keeps us on our toes and constantly moving ahead. And we've grown tremendously in our short — but incredible — history. To become such a dynamic force in the e-commerce world, we had to think smarter, dream bigger and work harder.
That's why we've assembled an energetic team of gutsy, driven and creative employees who are virtually unstoppable. No bureaucrats or clock watchers, just hard workers with an adventurous and entrepreneurial spirit. Our passion is as infectious now as it was when we first started. So whether we're launching a new site or competing in a Halloween pie-eating contest, we truly give it our all.
Step in our halls and you'll find Quidsi really does have something different. We thrive in an open work environment where thinking big is a way of life. We're never content with the status quo; we're always pushing forward, wondering, "What if?"

Something for Everyone
Who says work can't be fun? Check out the ways we play at Quidsi. And if these activities aren't for you, you can always start your own thing.
- For Runners Twice a week, the Quidsi Running Club runs a path along the Hudson River waterfront. There's no healthier way to end the work day and prep for weekend races.
- For Soccer Players Competing in leagues and pick-up games throughout the year, the co-ed Quidsi Kickers is a squad made up of soccer novices and pros alike.
- For Hoopsters With two playoff runs in the first two seasons, the Quidsi Basketball Club is one fast-break away from a championship. The occasional post-game meet up is a great way to wind down with colleagues across a variety of departments.

- For Future CEOs Ready for a challenge? The MBA Club meets bi-weekly to work on coursework from the MIT Sloan Graduate School of Business with lecture notes, textbooks and Harvard Business School case studies.
- For Bookworms Whether you're a fan of fiction (The Hunger Games), non-fiction (The Devil in the White City) or biography (The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks), literary lunches sponsored by the Quidsi Book Club are a great way to dish on what you loved (or loathed) about each month's pick.
- For Chess Players The Quidsi Chess Club members aren't just playing a board game: they're engaged in battle! Grab a board, take a seat and protect the Queen. Regular tournaments help players hone their competitive strategies.
- For Rockers Striking a chord with budding musicians, the Quidsi School of Rock offers subsidized in-office bass, guitar, piano, and vocal lessons that are a real high-note at the close of a work day.
